1. Scope and controller

This Privacy Policy applies to personal data processed by Regulora Legal Consultancy LLC through its website, enquiry forms, consultations, onboarding, client engagements, events and business communications. Regulora is the controller of personal data for the purposes described below unless another arrangement is expressly stated.

2. Personal data we collect

• Identity and contact data, such as name, job title, employer, address, email, telephone number and signature.
• Corporate and due-diligence data, including ownership and control information, passports or other identity documents, proof of address, professional history, source-of-funds and source-of-wealth information, regulatory history, sanctions screening results, adverse-media information and information about legal or compliance matters.
• Engagement and transaction data, including enquiries, proposals, contracts, invoices, payment status, communications, meeting records and work product.
• Technical and usage data, such as IP address, device and browser data, identifiers, log data, approximate location, pages viewed, referral source and cookie preferences.
• Marketing preferences and records of consent, opt-out and communications.
• Information obtained from public sources, regulators, corporate registries, screening providers, professional advisers, service providers and authorised representatives.

3. How we use personal data

• respond to enquiries, assess feasibility and provide quotations;
• conduct conflict, identity, anti-money-laundering, sanctions, source-of-funds and risk checks;
• prepare and support applications and provide contracted consultancy services;
• communicate with clients, regulators, advisers and authorised third parties;
• administer contracts, invoices, payments, records, complaints and disputes;
• secure, operate, analyse and improve the website and services;
• meet legal, regulatory, professional, accounting and insurance obligations;
• send business updates or marketing where permitted, and honour communication preferences;
• establish, exercise or defend legal claims and prevent fraud or misuse.

4. Legal grounds and consent

Depending on the context and applicable law, we process personal data with consent; to take steps at the individual’s request or perform a contract; to comply with legal or regulatory obligations; to protect public interests; to establish or defend legal claims; or where another lawful basis is available. Where processing relies on consent, consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. Withdrawal may prevent us from providing a service that requires the relevant data.

We do not use personal data for direct marketing where consent or another lawful permission is required and has not been obtained. Marketing communications include an opt-out method.

5. Sensitive and high-risk information

Licensing and compliance work may require information relating to finances, criminal allegations or convictions, sanctions, litigation, health or other sensitive matters. We request such information only where reasonably necessary and process it with enhanced safeguards and an applicable legal basis. Clients must not send unnecessary sensitive information through general website forms.

6. Sharing personal data

We do not sell personal data. We require service providers to use personal data only for authorised purposes and to protect it appropriately.

7. International transfers

Because licensing matters are cross-border, personal data may be transferred outside the United Arab Emirates to regulators, advisers or service providers. We use legally recognised safeguards where required, which may include adequacy mechanisms, contractual protections, explicit consent or another permitted transfer basis. Some receiving countries may provide different levels of protection.

8. Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes collected, including service delivery, regulatory and professional obligations, limitation periods, security and dispute management. Retention periods depend on the nature of the data and engagement. When retention is no longer required, data is securely deleted, anonymised or isolated from further use, subject to technical backup cycles and legal holds.

9. Security

We use proportionate administrative, contractual and technical measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Subject to applicable law and exceptions, individuals may request information about processing; access to personal data; correction or completion; deletion; restriction or cessation of certain processing; transfer of data where technically feasible; objection to certain automated decisions; withdrawal of consent; and review of a decision based solely on automated processing. We may verify identity and authority before responding.

Requests should be sent to privacy@regulora.net. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. A person may also lodge a complaint with the competent UAE data-protection authority or another regulator with jurisdiction.

11. Cookies and analytics

The website may use strictly necessary cookies for security, navigation and preferences. Analytics, functionality and advertising technologies are used only as described in the cookie interface and where the required consent has been obtained. Users can adjust browser settings and, where available, the website consent tool; disabling cookies may affect functionality.

12. Children

Our services are directed to adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the website. If we learn that such data was collected without appropriate authority, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

13. Changes to this Policy
